The complete post plate. The surface is sanded with a fine sand paper to get a matte finish.

5. The oarlock sockets (D) has a little "edge" underneath - where it actually locks the oar into the socket. It needs to go away, otherwise the aluminum pipe won't go through the socket. Cut or file it off, to make the opening even.

6. Mount the pipe (B) in one socket, make sure the pipe's end is even with the top of the socket. Drill two 4 mm holes straight through the socket and pipe (together), sideways. Repeat the procedure at the other end of the pipe. Do not switch or rotate the oarlocks, since you want to keep them in the same position as when you drilled to make sure you can put the screws (K) through properly.
