Hold the FlyStand horizontal, with the cam pointing forward. If the post wants to roll forward (A) shift the cam plate backwards (A) about 5 mm at a time until you find the balancing point. If it rolls backwards (B) shift the cam plate forward (B).
Now rotate the post a 1/4 turn so the cam is pointing to the ground. Again, if the post wants to roll forward (A) shift the cam plate to the right (A), if it wants to roll backwards (B), shift the cam plate left (B).

If the "cam side" seems heavier than the bottom of the post when you hold it horizontal by the handle, add another washer at the bottom. You might need to adjust the cam plate again if you add or remove washers, but once you've found the right position, you can make a mark or just remember the cam plate's position compared to the post plate.

Curious how well the FlyStand would perform, I went out to try it. At the same time, I tested how well the cam's own Super SteadyShot® system works.
